POSITION SUMMARY

The Advisor to the Director of Partnerships provides high-level strategic, operational, and advisory support to the Director in the execution of the Partnerships and Sponsorship portfolio. The role is responsible for strengthening coordination across internal teams and external stakeholders, enhancing partnership performance, and supporting data-driven decision-making through insights and analysis.

The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to the Director, ensuring strong alignment between strategic priorities and execution, while improving efficiency, reporting, and stakeholder engagement across the partnerships function.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Strategic Advisory and Coordination

  • Support the Director in shaping and refining partnership strategies and priorities
  • Provide analytical insights and recommendations to inform decision-making
  • Ensure alignment between strategic objectives and ongoing partnership activities
  • Coordinate cross-functional inputs to enable seamless execution of partnership initiatives

2. Operational Support and Execution Oversight

  • Track implementation of partnership plans across all sponsorship portfolios
  • Monitor progress against deliverables, timelines, and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Facilitate internal coordination to ensure timely and effective delivery of activities

3. Stakeholder Engagement and Communication

  • Support the Director in managing relationships with key partners, agencies, and stakeholders
  • Prepare briefing notes, presentations, and talking points for high-level engagements
  • Participate in partner meetings and ensure follow-up on agreed actions and commitments
  • Maintain consistent, professional, and effective communication across all stakeholder interactions

4. Reporting, Insights, and Performance Monitoring

  • Lead the preparation of partnership reports, dashboards, and executive updates
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of reporting across all partnerships
  • Analyze performance data and generate insights to support continuous improvement

5. Office of the Director Support

  • Provide day-to-day advisory and administrative support to the Director
  • Manage priorities, track key initiatives, and ensure follow-through on critical actions
  • Support preparation for internal and external meetings, including documentation and logistics
  • Act as a liaison between the Director and internal/external stakeholders as required

REQUIREMENTS

  • Applicants must be Rwandan nationals
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, International Relations, or a related field; a Master’s degree is an added advantage
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in brand partnerships, business development, marketing, or communications
  • Exposure to partnership development, sponsorship coordination, or stakeholder engagement within the Rwandan or regional market (internships and graduate trainee experience considered)
  • Understanding of strategic planning and performance metrics for institutional development is an added advantage
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, organizational, and planning skills
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and support execution during live events
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including coordinating cross-functional teams and delivering results
  • Fluency in English and French is required; proficiency in Kinyarwanda or Spanish is an added advantage
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools

The Brand and Communication Manager will lead the strategic planning and execution of all communications related to Rwanda’s global partnership portfolio. This role is responsible for shaping compelling narratives, ensuring consistent brand messaging across all partner engagements, and maximizing visibility and reputational value from sponsorships.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Partnership Communications Strategy and Execution

  • Develop and implement integrated communication strategies to support all Rwanda partnerships
  • Translate partnership objectives into clear messaging frameworks, content plans, and campaigns
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality storytelling across all sponsorship platforms and markets
  • Align communication outputs with broader national branding strategies

2. Content Development and Brand Management

  • Oversee the development of high-quality content, including press releases, digital content, reports, and partner-facing materials

3. Media and Stakeholder Engagement

4. Agency Coordination and Campaign Delivery

5. Performance Monitoring and Reporting

  • Track and evaluate communications performance across partnerships (media coverage, reach, engagement, and sentiment)

REQUIREMENTS

  • Applicants must be Rwandan nationals
  • Master’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or a Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience
  • 3–5 years of experience in communications, public relations, or brand management, preferably within sports, tourism, or international organizations
  • Proven experience managing high-profile communication campaigns across multiple markets
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with high attention to detail
  • Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience working with media, PR agencies, and creative teams
  • Strong understanding of brand positioning, media relations, and digital communications
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Willingness to travel internationally and work flexible hours when required

The Director of Partnerships will lead the strategic development and execution of Rwanda’s global partnerships and sponsorship portfolio. This role is responsible for setting the overall direction of the partnerships function, ensuring best-in-class activations, and maximizing value from each partner relationship.

The successful candidate will oversee a high-performing, multidisciplinary team across multiple verticals, manage external agencies, and ensure strong alignment with broader national objectives. This role is instrumental in positioning Rwanda as a world-class partner and a thought leader within the global sponsorship ecosystem.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Partnership Portfolio Execution and Team Leadership

  • Oversee the implementation of partnership strategies across all active sponsorships
  • Translate strategic objectives into clear operational plans and team priorities
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of Partnership Managers, Specialists, and Analysts
  • Conduct regular planning sessions, performance reviews, and execution check-ins
  • Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement

2. Senior Relationship Management

  • Serve as a senior point of contact for rights holders, agency partners, and government stakeholders
  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with key external partners
  • Represent Rwanda at major sponsorship events, activations, and strategic engagements

3. Agency Coordination and Resource Oversight

  • Coordinate inputs from internal teams and external partners to ensure accurate and timely reporting

REQUIREMENTS

  • Applicants must be Rwandan nationals
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sports Management, or a related field; a Master’s degree is an added advantage
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a senior sponsorship, partnerships, or commercial leadership role, ideally within sports, entertainment, or tourism sectors
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale partnerships across multiple markets with measurable impact
  • Strong leadership experience, including team building, coaching, and performance management
  • Exceptional relationship management and communication skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders
  • Deep understanding of sponsorship activation, brand alignment, and performance measurement
  • Experience working with external agencies and cross-functional teams
