RTB Scholarship 2026–2027 for In-Service TVET Teachers – Apply by 5 October 2026

The Rwanda TVET Board (RTB) has announced scholarship opportunities for A2 in-service TVET teachers who wish to pursue an Advanced Diploma (A1) programme at Rwanda Polytechnic (RP) during the 2026–2027 academic year.

Geographic Reference

The opportunity is specifically intended for TVET teachers serving in public and government-aided TVET schools. Applicants must apply through both the Teacher Management Information System (TMIS) and the Rwanda Polytechnic admission system.

Who Is Eligible?

According to the RTB announcement, applicants must meet the following conditions:

  1. Be a Rwandan citizen.
  2. Be a teacher in a TVET school.
  3. Be 40 years old or below on the date of application.
  4. Have at least 3 years of teaching experience and have worked for at least 1 year at the current school.
  5. Have a Pedagogical Certificate/RTTI Certificate uploaded in TMIS as a CPD Certificate.
  6. Be a TVET teacher teaching core subjects.
  7. Hold a Level 5 Certificate or results slip.

Required Documents

Eligible applicants need to prepare the following documents:

School administration tools

  • Copy of Level 5 Certificate or results slip.
  • Copy of appointment letter.
  • Copy of Pedagogical Certificate/RTTI Certificate uploaded in TMIS as a CPD Certificate.
  • Original performance evaluation for the 2024–2025 academic year, specifically the first and last pages, signed at District/Sector level.

How to Apply

There are two important application steps.



 

Step 1: Apply through TMIS

Applicants must submit their scholarship application online through the Teacher Management Information System (TMIS).

According to the user guide included in the announcement:

  1. Log in to TMIS.
  2. Click the Scholarship section.
  3. Select Apply for scholarship.
  4. Check your eligibility.
  5. Complete the scholarship application and upload the required documents.
  6. Submit the application.

If you have forgotten your TMIS password, the guide shows that you can use the Forgot password option and request a password reset using your email.

Step 2: Apply for Admission at Rwanda Polytechnic

Applicants must also apply for admission through Rwanda Polytechnic:

The announcement states that selection for the scholarship will be made among applicants who have been admitted to Rwanda Polytechnic.

Therefore, eligible teachers should complete both the TMIS scholarship application and the RP admission application.

Application Deadline

The application period runs from:

29 September 2026 to 5 October 2026.

The deadline stated in the RTB announcement is 5 October 2026.

Applicants are therefore encouraged to prepare their documents and complete both applications before the closing date.
