Scholarships 2027–2028 are now open for applications. The programme provides
international scholarship opportunities for students and professionals from 32
eligible countries to undertake specialized higher education and
continuing education programmes in Belgium.
The ARES scholarship programme supports one
Specialized Bachelor’s programme, eight Specialized Master’s programmes, and
one Continuing Education programme.

Who Can Apply?
Applicants must meet the eligibility
conditions established by ARES and the selected training programme.
Applicants must permanently reside and work
in one of the 32 eligible countries.
Applicants must hold a higher education
degree that meets the admission requirements of the selected programme.
Education
The relevant academic qualification must
generally have been obtained no more than 20 years before the start of the
training programme.
This 20-year period may be extended by one
year per childbirth and or adoption, according to the applicable ARES rules.
Applicants must have at least two years of
relevant professional experience in one of the 32 eligible countries after
obtaining their most recent higher education degree and before the application
deadline.
Applicants must complete the application in
the language in which the selected training programme is taught and demonstrate
good written and spoken knowledge of that language.
Applicants are allowed to apply for only
one training programme.

Education
Applicants who do not have an account
should follow the official ARES instructions to request the creation of a GIRAF
account.
Step 2: Access the Application Form
After logging into GIRAF, go to the
Competitive Calls section and select the application for International Training
2027–2028.
Applicants should select the application
option only once.
Step 3: Complete and Save the
Application
Complete all required sections of the
application form.
Mandatory fields are marked accordingly.
