The Embassy of the United States of America in Kigali,
Rwanda is recruiting for a Strategic Content Coordination Specialist.
The position is open to All Interested Candidates/All
Sources and available to start immediately.
Duties: The Strategic Content Coordination (SCC)
Specialist oversees online public engagement through the Mission’s digital
properties (social media, mobile). Oversees the selection and production
of strategic content for distribution in multiple digital and traditional
formats to Rwandan audience groups. Develops the procedures and guidelines
necessary for Mission use of evolving digital technologies. Coordinates Public
Diplomacy (PD) strategic planning, audience research, and program evaluation
and measurement. Develops procedures and guidelines for external Mission
communication in crisis situations.

About the Position
The U.S. Embassy in Kigali is inviting applications from
qualified candidates for the position of Public Health Administrative
Specialist (Senior Professional Advisor) within the Africa Regional
Office of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The successful candidate will support FDA engagement across
Africa, with a focus on strengthening regulatory systems, advancing regulatory
alignment, and supporting the operationalization of the African
Medicines Agency (AMA).
The role involves providing technical advice, strategic
guidance, policy development and coordination with U.S. Government agencies,
African governments and international partners.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Design,
develop, implement and evaluate regulatory policy and technical
initiatives.
- Provide
expert advice on regulatory science and international policy.
- Support
regulatory alignment and harmonization across African countries.
- Engage
and coordinate with senior government officials and international
stakeholders.
- Contribute
to strengthening public health regulatory systems.
- Support
initiatives related to pharmaceuticals, biologics, medical devices and
food products.
- Develop
strategic recommendations on complex regulatory and public health issues.
- Coordinate
activities involving multiple organizations and stakeholders.
Qualifications
Education
Applicants must have a Master’s degree in
one of the following fields:
- Pharmacy
- Public
Health
- Business
Administration
- Biological
Sciences
- Regulatory
Science
Professional Experience
A minimum of five (5) years of progressively
responsible experience in:
- Regulatory
policy
- Public
health
- International
development
- Or a
related field
Experience working with international organizations,
government agencies or multi-stakeholder initiatives is required.
Language
Applicants must demonstrate fluency in speaking,
reading and writing English.
Knowledge and Skills
Applicants should have advanced knowledge in one or more of
the following areas:
- Public
health
- Regulatory
science
- Pharmacy
or pharmaceutical sciences
- Law or
health policy
- Biomedical
or biological sciences
- International
relations or global health diplomacy
- Economics
or public policy
Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder-engagement
skills are also required.
Other Requirements
Selected candidates will be subject to a background
investigation and must be able to obtain and maintain a Public
Trust clearance.
The selected candidate should normally be able to begin work
within approximately two weeks after receiving the required
authorization, clearances and certifications.
