Job Purpose

The Commercial Manager will lead and oversee RwandAir’s commercial interests within the assigned country or territory, ensuring sustainable revenue growth, market expansion, operational alignment and strong stakeholder engagement.

The successful candidate will serve as RwandAir’s lead commercial representative in the market and will be accountable for overall territory performance across passenger sales, cargo contribution, trade partnerships, customer experience and commercial execution.

Strategic Duties

  • At least 2 years of experience in a managerial or leadership position.

  • Demonstrable experience managing the P&L and budget of a major operational unit, with proven results in unit-cost and productivity improvement.
  • IATA/ICAO Senior Management or Ground Operations qualification, such as an IATA Diploma in Ground Operations, AHM or SMS qualification.
  • Hands-on experience with IOSA/ISAGO audit programmes and engagement with Civil Aviation Authorities.
  • Experience leading multicultural and multi-shift workforces, preferably within a hub or major-airport environment.
  • Experience related to the Bugesera transition is an advantage.

Job Purpose

  • Strong knowledge of aviation materials regulations, including EASA Part 145 and Part M/CAMO, and inventory traceability.
  • Familiarity with ERP or Maintenance & Engineering systems such as AMOS, Ramco or TRAX.

Preferred

  • Postgraduate qualification in Logistics, Aviation Management or Business Administration.

Job Purpose

The Senior Manager – Support Services will lead RwandAir Ground Services support functions covering Safety, Quality, Compliance, Resource Planning, Training, and Internal Communications.

The successful candidate will serve as the key point of accountability for regulatory readiness, risk management, organisational learning, workforce planning, and continuous improvement across Ground Services.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership

  • Design and own the Ground Services governance architecture, including Operations Manuals, SOPs, Management of Change, Risk Assessments, and Document Control frameworks, aligned with ICAO, IOSA, ISAGO, and IATA AHM requirements.
  • Define and implement the Ground Services Safety Management System (SMS) and Quality Management System (QMS) strategy.
  • Promote a strong Generative Safety Culture and Just Culture across all Ground Services activities.
  • Establish strategic Resource Planning capabilities covering demand forecasting, productivity models, manpower planning, and rostering.
  • Develop the Ground Services training and competency strategy in line with regulatory requirements and RwandAir’s 4-Star service ambition.
  • Partner with HR and Learning & Development to build a sustainable employee competency pipeline.
  • Lead the regulatory audit and certification strategy, including IOSA, ISAGO, RCAA, and ICAO requirements.
  • Establish audit calendars, readiness programmes, finding-management processes, and closure mechanisms.
  • Develop the Emergency Response and Business Continuity Management strategy for Ground Services.
  • Ensure operational resilience against operational, security, pandemic, and reputational risks.
  • Champion internal communications and culture-building initiatives within Ground Services.

2. Operational Responsibilities

  • Execute and govern the internal audit and inspection programme.
  • Track audit findings, coordinate corrective actions with responsible owners, and report key performance indicators to the Director, Ground Operations.
  • Manage the SMS occurrence-reporting cycle, including:
    • Occurrence capture
    • Classification

  • Maintain and regularly update the Ground Services Task Register, Risk Assessments, and Management of Change records.

  • Maintain a robust Emergency Response Plan and conduct regular ERP exercises.
  • Capture lessons learned from emergency exercises and operational events and update plans accordingly.
  • Lead resource-planning activities, including:

  • Ensure resource deployment supports optimal service delivery.
  • Oversee the charge-note control framework, including issuance, reconciliation, and banking deposits in accordance with applicable SLAs and financial controls.
  • Oversee the annual training calendar, On-the-Job Training (OJT), and recurrent training programmes.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with the Training Matrix and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Line Manager.

  • Establish departmental objectives and priorities aligned with RwandAir’s overall business strategy.

Job Purpose

The Senior Manager – GSE Maintenance will be responsible for managing RwandAir Ground Services Engineering within agreed operational, safety, quality, and financial standards.

The role will provide strategic, operational, and tactical leadership for Engineering activities, including the GSE workshop, stores, maintenance, support services, project management, and organizational change at Kigali and Kamembe.

The successful candidate will ensure that Engineering projects and workstreams are delivered on time, within budget, and within scope, while continuously improving safety, efficiency, reliability, and service quality.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic plans aimed at improving GSE Engineering performance, safety, environmental management, and Health & Safety standards.
  • Lead the GSE Engineering Management team and establish a culture of innovation, operational excellence, and best practice.
  • Lead and govern Engineering portfolios, programmes, and projects using recognized project-management methodologies.
  • Develop and evaluate Engineering business cases in collaboration with business owners and Finance.
  • Identify operational gaps, opportunities, and areas requiring process development or change management.
  • Lead strategic Engineering projects that deliver value to the business, employees, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Work closely with IT to ensure the GSE workshop, stores, and support functions have appropriate and up-to-date technology.

  • Develop and implement the GSE Engineering strategy, objectives, priorities, and operational plans.
  • Regularly review departmental objectives, procedures, practices, and performance and introduce improvements where required.
  • Establish and communicate clear operational standards, accountabilities, responsibilities, and controls.
  • Ensure delivery of Engineering KPIs through effective management of Workshop, Stores, and Support teams.
  • Ensure workshop deliverables meet required standards of completeness, accuracy, quality, and reliability.
  • Facilitate process-development workshops and map business processes based on operational requirements.
  • Establish effective methodologies for maintaining and continuously improving business processes.
