To strengthen leadership at SOS Kigali Technical High
School, ISR-CBC invites applications from qualified, dynamic, and visionary
professionals for the position of School Principal.
Job Purpose
The School Principal is the chief academic and
administrative leader of SOS Kigali Technical High School and is accountable
for the overall performance, growth and sustainability of the school.
The School Principal will provide visionary leadership to
deliver excellence in teaching and learning, strengthen technical education,
promote English as the language of communication and instruction, ensure
compliance with national education standards and position the school as a
nationally recognized center of excellence in technical and secondary
education.
The role is also responsible for improving learner outcomes,
developing high-performing staff, expanding relevant technical programs,
building strategic partnerships and increasing the school's financial
sustainability through prudent resource management, enrolment growth, approved
income-generating initiatives and cost optimization.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Provide
strategic leadership and implement the school's strategic plan.
- Lead
continuous school improvement through innovation, accountability and
data-driven decision-making.
- Promote
a culture of excellence, professionalism, integrity and continuous
improvement.
- Position
the school among Rwanda's leading technical secondary schools.
Academic and Instructional Leadership
- Ensure
effective implementation of the Competency-Based Curriculum.
- Lead
excellence in Ordinary Level and Advanced Level ICT programs.
- Monitor
teaching quality through lesson observations, coaching and academic reviews.
- Improve
learner achievement through assessment analysis and continuous improvement
initiatives.
Technical Education and Innovation
- Expand
technical education programs in response to labor market demands.
- Lead
development of new accredited technical programs.
- Promote
innovation, entrepreneurship, research and project-based learning.
- Strengthen
industry partnerships to support internships and graduate employability.
Staff Leadership and Performance Management
- Participate
in recruitment, supervision, mentorship, and development of
high-performing staff.
- Implement
performance management systems with measurable annual targets.
- Conduct
classroom observations and support professional development.
- Foster
teamwork, accountability and continuous improvement.
Student Welfare and School Culture
- Ensure
a safe, inclusive, child-friendly learning environment.
- Promote
safeguarding, discipline, guidance and counselling.
- Encourage
student leadership, innovation, sports and co-curricular activities.
- Maintain
high student attendance, retention and positive behavior.
Quality Assurance and Compliance
- Ensure
compliance with Ministry of Education, NESA, RTB and organizational
standards.
- Coordinate
school inspection readiness and quality assurance processes.
- Implement
inspection and audit recommendations within agreed timelines.
- Maintain
high standards of governance, safeguarding and risk management.
Financial Management and Institutional Sustainability
- Prepare
and manage the school's annual budget.
- Ensure
efficient, transparent and accountable utilization of financial and
physical resources.
- Implement
cost optimization measures while maintaining education quality.
- Increase
student enrolment through strategic marketing and community engagement.
- Develop
and implement approved income-generating initiatives.
- Build
strategic partnerships and mobilize resources to support school growth.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build
productive partnerships with government institutions, industries, higher
learning institutions, development partners, alumni, parents and the
community.
- Promote
strong communication and stakeholder engagement to support school
development.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
- A
master’s degree in education, Educational Leadership, School Management,
Technical Education, ICT Education, or a related field.
OR
- A
bachelor’s degree in education or a related field with at least seven (7)
years of relevant professional experience.
Professional training in Educational Leadership will be an
added advantage.
