Invitation of teachers to participate in the Digital Literacy for Education Training program

The Government of Rwanda, with support from the World Bank through the Quality Basic Education (QBE) project, is enhancing teachers' English proficiency and digital skills. This fiscal year of 2025/2026, Rwanda Basic Education Board (REB) plans to train 7,500 pre-primary, primary, and lower secondary teachers and equip them with digital literacy skills for education. The training will be delivered in a blended format, combining face-to-face and online sessions scheduled from 22nd December 2025 to 22nd February 2026 at different identified centers in different phases.

In this regard, I would like to invite teachers to the training on Digital Literacy for Education and request your support in selecting teachers to attend the training based on their assigned phases, designated centres and selection criteria.

Attached are the training timetable, the teachers' selection criteria, and the list of schools with the number of teachers who will participate in the training. All related costs will be covered by REB–SPIU.

For more information, please contact Ngendahayo Theodore, ECE and Primary Schools Digital Content and Development Engineer, via email: tngendahayo@reb.rw and phone: 0783187462 and Mugabonake Abdou, the English Proficiency Specialist, via email: amugabonake@reb.rw and Phone: 0788971401.

Yours sincerely,
