INES-Ruhengeri, in collaboration with the Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) of Rwanda, is pleased to announce a scholarship opportunity for eligible female students pursuing STEM education in Biomedical Laboratory Science. The scholarship is funded by the Scottish Government through Oxfam.
Target Districts
This scholarship is open to female students residing in the following ten districts where the project is currently being implemented:

Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Laboratory Science at INES-Ruhengeri
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a female Rwandan citizen
- Be aged 18–25 years (up to 30 years for persons with disabilities)
- Have completed secondary school between 2019 and 2023
- Hold an Advanced Certificate in any of the following combinations: MCB, PCB, BCG, Biochimie, Latin-Science, Latin-Biochimie, Laboratory, or Associate Nursing Program
- Have achieved a minimum grade of A to C in both Biology and Chemistry
- Not be enrolled in any other higher learning institution
- Be a first-year student
Note:
Girls with vulnerabilities, including those living with disabilities, single mothers, or early motherhood (unmarried) are highly encouraged to apply.
Required Documents
Applicants must upload the following documents:
- Notarized copy of the secondary school certificate (A-Level)
- National ID
- Two recent passport-sized color photographs
- Medical proof of disability (if applicable)
- Proof of economic vulnerability signed and issued by a recognized local authority
