WASH Engineer (Short-Term Contract) at World Vision

Job Summary
World Vision Rwanda is seeking a qualified and
experienced WASH Engineer to supervise, monitor, and ensure
quality implementation of WASH infrastructure projects in health facilities and
schools across Rutsiro, Rusizi, and Nyamasheke districts. The
successful candidate will oversee contractors, ensure compliance with technical
standards, and support the delivery of high-quality water, sanitation, and
hygiene infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct
water resource development studies and design reviews.
- Prepare
and review technical drawings, BoQs, specifications, and tender documents.
- Supervise
construction and installation of WASH facilities.
- Monitor
project quality, progress, and compliance with standards.
- Prepare
weekly, monthly, and donor reports.
- Coordinate
site inspections, meetings, commissioning, and handovers.
- Support
tender evaluations and contract management.
- Ensure
proper documentation and mapping of completed WASH infrastructures.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's
Degree in Civil Engineering, Water Engineering, Sanitary Engineering, or a
related field.
Experience
- Minimum 5
years of experience in design and construction of WASH
infrastructure projects.
- Experience
in hydraulic calculations, technical designs, BoQs preparation,
supervision, and project monitoring.
- Strong
knowledge of WASH standards, construction contract management, and
contractor supervision.

(ArcView, ArcMap)
- EPANET
- MS
Office Suite
Additional Qualifications
- Experience
with NGOs or WASH-focused organizations is an added advantage.
- Strong
leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.
- Must
be a committed Christian able to work across denominational backgrounds.
Languages
- Fluent
in English and Kinyarwanda.
Travel Requirement
- Willingness
to travel domestically up to 70% of the time.
