Rwanda Men’s Resource Centre (RWAMREC) is seeking a qualified and creative Communications Officer to strengthen the organization's communication, visibility, advocacy, stakeholder engagement, knowledge management, and digital presence.

RWAMREC is a non-governmental organization working to transform harmful masculinities and promote gender equality, human rights, and social justice in Rwanda and beyond. The organization engages men and boys as allies for gender equality while supporting women’s rights and preventing gender-based violence.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Communication

  • Support development and implementation of communication strategies.
  • Ensure consistency in organizational branding and messaging.
  • Support advocacy campaigns and stakeholder engagement initiatives.

Digital Communications & Social Media

  • Manage social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, Threads, TikTok, YouTube).
  • Develop content calendars and publish engaging content.
  • Monitor analytics and audience engagement.

Content Development

  • Produce and edit:
    • Success stories
    • Blogs
    • Press releases
    • Newsletters
    • Case studies
    • Annual reports
    • Advocacy materials

Multimedia Production

  • Document activities through photography and videography.
  • Produce videos, reels, podcasts, interviews, and promotional content.
  • Manage multimedia archives and consent documentation.

Media Relations

  • Build relationships with media houses and journalists.
  • Coordinate interviews, press conferences, and media coverage.
  • Monitor and document media visibility.

Website & Knowledge Management

  • Update and manage the RWAMREC website.
  • Support SEO and website performance.
  • Organize communication archives and digital repositories.
  • Document lessons learned and organizational achievements.

Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track communication indicators and campaign performance.
  • Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual communication reports.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in:
    • Communications
    • Journalism
    • Public Relations
    • Media Studies
    • Related fields
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in:
    • Communications
    • Journalism
    • Digital Storytelling
    • Website Management
    • Content Creation

Required Skills

  • Social media management and analytics.
  • Website management and newsletter production.
  • Content writing and editing.
  • Knowledge of AI tools, CRM systems, and digital platforms.
  • Graphic design and multimedia production (Canva or Adobe Creative Suite is an advantage).
  • Fluency in English and Kinyarwanda.
  • Knowledge of French is an added advantage.
