SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES FOR IN-SERVICE
TEACHERS WISHING TO STUDY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF RWANDA-COLLEGE OF EDUCATION
The Rwanda Basic Education Board (REB) in collaboration with the
Higher Education Council (HEC), is informing the public that is offering 300
scholarship opportunities for in-service teachers in Public and
Government-aided schools who aspire to pursue undergraduate studies in Early
Childhood Education, Special Needs Education, Sciences with Education,
Languages with Education and Educational Psychology. These scholarships are
available for the academic year 2026-2027 and are specifically for studying at
the University of Rwanda, College of Education (URCE).
The eligibility criteria for Applicants are
as follow:
- Being a Rwandan Citizen by Nationality,
- Being not more than thirty-five (35) years old,
- Having a High School Certificate (A2) in Education,
- Being a Certified Teacher with A2 qualifications in other
combinations,
- Having a Diploma (A1) in Education
- Having recognized equivalence for qualifications obtained from
foreign institutions.,
- Having at least three years of experience in teaching positions
relevant to his/her level of qualification,
- Having not been previously suspended for a period not exceeding
three months,
Interested candidates should submit the
following required documents with their applications:
- Copy of high school certificate (A2) or diploma (Al) from
accredited university or programme,
- Academic transcript or Result slip showing grades in case the
certificate does not indicate the grades obtained,
- Primary teacher professional Certificate training for certified in-service teachers from non-TTC combinations
- Copy of the appointment letter,
- Original copy of performance evaluation for the academic year
2024-2025 (first and last page) signed and stamped by the teacher,
district, or competent authority (School owner).
Successful and Admitted candidates will be
required to submit their employment contracts from their respective Districts
to University of Rwanda College of Education.

will be submitted online via the Teacher Management and Information System
(TMIS) at the link: https://tmis.reb.rw/
The application period will start from 5 to 13 May 2026.
