University of Rwanda Call for Application of Master Degree Deadline February 27th, 2026

 




The University of Rwanda (UR) has announced a call for applications for the Master of Science in Biotechnology for the 2026 academic year. This program is offered in partnership with European Universities and the EU through the Kwigira program, with financial backing from the Bank of Kigali (BK) Foundation.

Programme Overview

  • Focus Areas: Health, environment, agriculture, and veterinary medicine.
  • Duration: 2 years.
  • Mode of Attendance: Daily theoretical and practical classes.
  • Location: UR College of Science and Technology (CST), Nyarugenge Campus.

Entry Requirements

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Medicine, Life Sciences (including Pharmacy and Biomedical Lab Sciences), Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Veterinary Medicine, Animal Science, Agriculture, or related fields.
  • Nationality: Applicants must be Rwandan.
  • Language: Ability to speak, write, and understand English.
  • Added Value: Having at least one peer-reviewed publication.

Funding and Selection

  • Scholarships: 27 partial scholarship positions are available.
  • Tuition: The tuition fees for admitted students will be fully covered.
  • Expenses: The program does not cover a stipend; students are responsible for their own living costs.
  • Selection: Candidates will be assessed based on submitted documents, followed by an oral interview for shortlisted applicants.

  3. Complete the Biographical Form to obtain a "Student ID Reference Number".
  4. Create a 5-digit PIN.
