1. JOB DESCRIPTION: QUALITY IMPROVEMENT
OFFICER (Q.I.O) Job Title Quality Improvement Officer Department Quality
Assurance Management Unit Reporting to Director of Quality Assurance Management
Unit Location Kibagabaga Level Two Teaching Hospital 2. JOB PURPOSE To
coordinate and facilitate the implementation of Rwanda National Hospital
Accreditation Standards and hospital-wide quality improvement initiatives to
ensure the highest level of patient safety and service excellence. 3. KEY
RESPONSIBILITIES Accreditation Management: Lead the hospital accreditation
process by ensuring all departments comply with Level I and Level II standards
. Quality Monitoring: Conduct regular internal audits and self-assessments
using the MOH Performance Assessment Toolkit to identify gaps in clinical and
non-clinical services. . Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI): Facilitate the
development and monitoring of Quality Improvement Projects (QIPs) across
various departments. . Reporting: Collect and analyze key performance indicators
(KPIs) related to patient safety, maternal/neonatal outcomes, and infection
control to inform management decisions. . Staff Training: Organize workshops
and on-the-job training for staff regarding accreditation standards and safety
protocols. Committee . Coordination: Serve as a technical secretary or lead for
the Quality Improvement Committee, ensuring regular meetings and follow-up on
action plans. Patient Satisfaction: Oversee patient satisfaction surveys and
grievance redressal mechanisms to improve customer care.
