The Chinese Academy of Agricultural
Sciences (CAAS) Scholarship provides international students with the chance to

than 30 specialized research institutes.

programs—including the Chinese Government Scholarship (CGS), Beijing Government
Scholarship (BGS), GSCAAS internal scholarships, and the GSCAAS-OWSD
Fellowship.
Students who are selected for the Chinese
Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) Scholarship receive extensive financial
support, tuition fee waivers, stipends, accommodation benefits, medical

Requirements for Chinese Academy of

To be considered for the Chinese Academy of
Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) Scholarship, you must:

- Conform to the education and age requirements as follows:
- Master’s programs: holds a Bachelor’s degree and is under the
age of 3

Senior Scholar
- holds a Master’s or higher degree, or has an academic title of

The Chinese Academy of Agricultural
Sciences (CAAS) Scholarships are offered by the Chinese and Beijing
Governments. They include;
The Chinese Government Scholarship
(CGS): The scholarship covers the following:
- A fee waiver for tuition and basic textbooks. Cost of
experiments or internships.
- Costs of books or learning materials other than the required
basic textbooks must be covered by the student.
- Free on-campus dormitory accommodation.
Living allowance (per month):
- Master’s student & General Scholar: 3,000 RMB;
- Doctoral student & Senior Scholar: 3,500 RMB.

The Graduate School of CAAS Scholarship

experiments or internships. Costs of books or learning materials.
- Free on-campus dormitory accommodation.
- Research Assistantship (per month, supported by GSCAAS
supervisor):
- Master’s student & General Scholar: 3,000 RMB;
- Doctoral student & Senior Scholar: 3,500 RMB.
- Fee to cover Comprehensive Medical Insurance provided by
GSCAAS.
The Beijing Government Scholarship (BGS)
School supplies
The winners of BGS are exempt from tuition
costs for the specific academic year. The GSCAAS supervisor provides a research
assistant fellowship, accommodation fee for on-campus dormitory, and GSCAAS
covers Comprehensive Medical Insurance for the international student.
GSCAAS-OWSD Fellowship
The GSCAAS-OWSD fellowship covers:
- A monthly allowance to cover basic living expenses such as
accommodation and meals while in the host country;
- A special allowance to attend international conferences during
the period of the fellowship;
- The opportunity to attend regional science communications
workshops, on a competitive basis;
- A return ticket from the home country to the host institute for
the agreed research period;
- Annual medical insurance contribution (USD 200/year), Visa
expenses.

submit the following documents;
- Application Form
- Photocopy of passport (with at least 2 years’ validity)
- Notarized highest diploma.
- Copies of academic records
- Two reference letters from two Professors or experts
- CV
- Research proposal (no less than 1000 characters or words.
- Language Proficiency Requirements: English Language
Certificate; or score reports of TOEFL, IELTS, CEFR, etc.; or score
reports of the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK);
- Photocopies of the degree thesis.
- No Objection Certificate
- Foreigner Physical Examination Form
- Acceptance letter
- Non-criminal record report.

To apply for the Chinese Academy of
Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) Scholarship, interested and qualified candidates

International Students.
- For those who intended to apply for Chinese Government
Scholarship, you need to log on the CSC
Application System, fill out and generate the CSC Application Form,
then upload the “Online generated CSC Application Form” as an attachment
in the “Add supporting documents” of GSCAAS online application system.
- Applicants who apply for Chinese Government Scholarship
(CGS) and the Graduate School of CAAS Scholarship (GSCAAS) are
required to submit application documents by March 31st, 2026, and
April 30th, 2026 respectively for enrolment in the autumn
semester.
- GSCAAS will review all the application documents and send the
Admission Notice and Confirmation Form for Study in China to the qualified
applicants around July 15th, 2026 for autumn semester enrollment.
