Professional Internships Program in
Rwanda
About the Internship Program
The Professional Internship Program
in Rwanda was adopted in 2009 with the aim of equipping fresh
graduates with practical skills and professional experience needed to make a
successful transition from school to the labour market.
The program is designed to bridge the gap
between theoretical knowledge and practical work experience by
giving Rwandan graduates an opportunity to apply what they learned in school in
a real working environment.
Professional networking events
Through the program, interns are placed
in public institutions, private companies, and civil society
organizations that are related to their fields of study. This enables
young graduates to gain valuable professional experience, develop workplace
skills, and improve their chances of securing employment.
In general, the internship lasts for six
(6) months. However, for technical fields such as agriculture and other
areas that require extended practical training, the internship period may be
extended to up to twelve (12) months.
