University of Rwanda (UR) is inviting applications from qualified and motivated individuals to serve as Enumerators for a research project on digital education and blended learning in Rwandan higher learning institutions.

The research project, titled “From Emergency Online Learning to Resilient Digital Education Ecosystems: Evaluating Blended Learning and Learner Analytics in Rwandan Higher Learning Institutions,” seeks to generate evidence on students’ and graduates’ experiences with online and blended learning.

 About the Study

The study aims to assess the quality, equity, and effectiveness of blended learning and learner analytics at the University of Rwanda.

The tracer survey will examine areas including:

Travel Guides & Travelogues

  • Access to digital learning resources
  • Quality and effectiveness of digital learning
  • Student participation and engagement
  • Digital competencies
  • Learner support
  • Barriers and inequalities in digital education
  • Experiences with digital learning platforms and learner analytics

The findings will support the development of a Digital Resilience Framework and Policy Toolkit for public universities in Rwanda and East Africa.



 

 Key Responsibilities

Selected Enumerators will be responsible for:

  • Administering the approved digital education tracer survey using KoboCollect
  • Explaining the study and obtaining informed consent
  • Accurately recording respondents’ responses
  • Following questionnaire instructions and skip patterns
  • Maintaining confidentiality and protecting respondent information
  • Conducting follow-ups where required
  • Reporting fieldwork challenges and data-quality issues
  • Participating in field testing and providing questionnaire feedback
  • Complying with research ethics, data-protection, and quality-control procedures



 

 Requirements

Applicants should:

  • Have proven experience in quantitative data collection and field research
  • Have practical experience using KoboCollect/KoboToolbox, supported by a signed certificate
  • Provide at least two certificates or verifiable proofs of participation in KoboCollect/KoboToolbox data collection
  • Be fluent in Kinyarwanda and English, both orally and in writing
  • Have strong communication, interpersonal, and interviewing skills
  • Demonstrate integrity, reliability, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Understand confidentiality, informed consent, and ethical research practices
  • Be available throughout the training, field-testing, and data-collection period

Experience in education research, student or graduate tracer surveys, digital/online learning, blended learning, learner analytics, or higher education research will be an added advantage.
