NESA Issues Urgent Instructions for National Exam Markers: Crucial Requirements, Missing Deadlines, and Mandatory 80% Score Rule

The National Examination and School Inspection Authority (NESA) has officially released a critical set of instructions and mandatory guidelines for all selected national examination markers for 2026.

If you have been selected as a marker for this year's national exercise, there are strict deadlines, code of conduct rules, and a brand-new mandatory qualification test that you must pass upon arrival. Failure to adhere to these rules will lead to immediate disqualification and replacement.

Here is everything you need to know before heading to your assigned marking centre.

1. Reporting Date and Strict Deadline

  • Reporting Date: Sunday, July 12, 2026
  • Cut-off Time: Before 17:00 (5:00 PM)

CRITICAL WARNING: Any marker arriving after 17:00 will be strictly denied entry into the marking centre. Please plan your journey early to avoid being locked out.

2. Mandatory Qualification Exam (80% Passing Score)

In an effort to uphold the highest standards of academic integrity and accuracy, NESA has introduced a strict evaluation policy for all markers:

  • Every selected marker is required to sit the exact examination they are intending to mark as a candidate.
  • The Catch: Any marker who fails to achieve a minimum score of 80% on this test will be automatically disqualified from the marking exercise and ordered to leave the marking centre immediately.

3. Required Documents for Entry

Upon arrival at the main gate of your assigned marking centre, you must present physical proof of your credentials. Ensure you have packed the following documents:

  • Printed Appointment Letter: Must clearly display a visible QR Code.
  • Health Insurance Card: Valid Mutuelle de Santé or RAMA.
  • RSSB Affiliation Number: If you do not possess or know your RSSB number, do not attempt to enter the centre gates.
  • Bank Confirmation Letter: An official letter confirming your personal bank account details for payment processing.

4. Code of Conduct and Strict Regulations

NESA expects all educators to maintain the highest level of professionalism during this national exercise. Take note of the following operational rules:

  • Attendance Registration: You must register your attendance immediately upon arrival at the gate.
  • Movement Restrictions: Physical presence inside the centre is mandatory throughout the entire marking period. Leaving or moving outside the marking centre premises is strictly prohibited, unless you have explicit written authorization from management.
  • Consequences: Any violation of the code of conduct, unexcused absences, or late registration will result in immediate replacement and disqualification.

5. Opportunity for Question Item Bank Setting

Are you interested in participating in the preparation of future exam questions? NESA is offering markers the chance to apply for setting the Question Item Bank, which will take place right at the marking centre after the marking exercise is concluded.

If you wish to apply, please bring:

  1. Your own personal laptop.
  2. Relevant reference books to assist you in question item preparation.

A Final Message to Markers

NESA Management extends its gratitude to all educators for their unwavering commitment and vital contribution to this important national exercise. Stay professional, arrive on time, and best of all, prepare thoroughly to ace your subject evaluation!
