the fastest-growing aquaculture companies in Africa. Founded in 2022, Kivu
Choice is the sister company to Victory Farms, East Africa’s leading
aquaculture platform based in Kenya. The company operates a fully vertically
integrated aquaculture model, encompassing hatchery operations, cage-based
grow-out, processing, distribution, and sales. Kivu Choice is also one of the
country’s largest employers with over 700 employees and plans to grow to 1,200

creation and inclusive economic development. Over the next five years, Kivu
Choice aims to scale into Africa’s largest and most sustainable protein producer,
producing and distributing 30,000 tons of fish annually for the Rwandan market

About the Role
The Junior Data Analyst will collect, analyze, and maintain
operational data across Kivu Choice’s sites, ensuring data accuracy, integrity,
and compliance across all reporting. The role is responsible for preparing
reports and dashboards, monitoring production KPIs, and developing biological
forecasts to support operational and commercial decision-making. The Data
Analyst will also build and maintain a Microsoft-based business intelligence
(BI) database to ensure a single source of truth across all sites, and will
provide actionable insights to drive continuous improvement across the
business.
Key Responsibilities
- Input
daily farm operational data (e.g., water quality, stocking, feeding,
mortality, fish transfers, harvests) into Farm360.
- Ensure
all entries are accurate, timely, and aligned with farm procedures.
- Review
and cross-check data for errors or inconsistencies before submission.
- Collaborate
with farm supervisors and technicians to verify source data.
- Maintain
organized records (both digital and manual, if required) for
cross-validation.
- Assist
in generating daily, weekly, and monthly reports from Farm 360.
- Prepare
reports and dashboards to monitor production KPIs and support operational
decision-making.
- Flag
and report any discrepancies or data quality issues to supervisors.
- Develop
and maintain biological forecasts, including growth, biomass, mortality,
feed demand, and harvest projections.
- Lead
scenario planning to support production and commercial decision-making.
- Build
and maintain a Microsoft-based BI database (Power BI / SQL Server) in
conjunction with centralized reporting.
- Ensure
a single source of truth across all sites.
- Participate
in Farm 360 trainings and system updates when required.
- Ensure
data confidentiality and secure handling of farm information.
- Provide
actionable insights to support operational performance and drive
continuous improvement.
- Any
additional responsibilities that may be assigned by supervisors.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s
degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information
Systems,or a related field.
- Proven
experience working with data management systems, preferably in an
agricultural, aquaculture, or operational environment.
- Proficiency
in Microsoft Power BI, SQL Server, and Excel for data analysis and
reporting.
- Experience
with farm management systems such as Farm360 is an added advantage.
- Strong
attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
- Good
communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work closely
with operational teams.
- Ability
to work independently and manage multiple reporting deadlines.
