The National Examination and School Inspection Authority (NESA) has officially announced the End of Term III Comprehensive Assessment (CA) Students' Exam Scripts Audit for the 2025–2026 academic year.
According to the official communication dated 25 June 2026, the nationwide audit aims to verify the accuracy of students' assessment scores recorded in the CAMIS system while strengthening accountability and quality assurance in Rwanda's education sector.
The circular was addressed to all Mayors and District Executive Administrators, requesting them to facilitate the successful implementation of this important national exercise.
Purpose of the Exam Scripts Audit
The audit forms part of the implementation of the Teacher Learning-Based Imihigo, which focuses on improving teaching quality, assessment integrity, and educational performance across Rwanda.
NESA will review a sample of End of Term III Comprehensive Assessment exam scripts to:
- Verify the accuracy of marks entered into CAMIS.
- Improve transparency and credibility of school-based assessments.
- Ensure schools comply with national assessment standards.
- Strengthen accountability in students' performance reporting.
- Support continuous improvement in teaching and learning outcomes.
Audit Dates
The exam scripts audit will be conducted from:
📅 20 July 2026 – 31 July 2026
Although this period falls during the school holidays, schools are required to preserve and make available all End of Term III Comprehensive Assessment exam scripts for the audit teams.
Schools Covered
The exercise will be carried out in:
- Public schools
- Government-subsidized schools
- Primary schools
- Secondary schools
- General Education schools
- Technical and Professional Education and Training (TVET) institutions
Role of Districts and Sector Education Inspectors
NESA has requested district authorities to ensure that Sector Education Inspectors are available to supervise and support the audit during the scheduled period.
The authority also noted that the list of selected schools together with the CAMIS features to be used during the verification exercise will be communicated before the audit begins.
