JOB SUMMARY

Abahizi CBC is a social enterprise based in Rwanda specializing in high-quality handbag manufacturing for the global fashion industry. The company works closely with Kate Spade New York and is committed to empowering women and transforming the local community.

The Human Resources & Social Impact Manager is a senior leadership role responsible for both people management and social impact strategy. The role ensures a productive workforce while driving the company’s mission of community and employee empowerment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Human Resources Management

  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures
  • Lead recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes
  • Manage payroll, PAYE, RSSB, CBHI, and employee benefits
  • Oversee performance management systems and evaluations
  • Handle employee relations, grievances, and disciplinary processes
  • Coordinate training and staff development programs
  • Maintain HR records, HRIS systems, and reporting

Social Impact Management

  • Develop and implement annual social impact strategies
  • Manage partnerships with NGOs, government, and stakeholders
  • Implement employee wellbeing and mental health programs
  • Measure, analyze, and report social impact data
  • Prepare quarterly and annual impact reports
  • Manage social impact budget and reporting

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of HR experience, including 3 years in management
  • Strong knowledge of Rwanda Labour Law and RSSB regulations
  • Experience in manufacturing or factory environments is an advantage
  • Strong reporting and data analysis skills
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Fluency in English and Kinyarwanda (French is an advantage)
