The Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB) has detained four individuals, including **Marcel Mukeshimana**, the former head of **Rubengera II TSS School** in Karongi District. Also in custody are two former accountants of the school and an authorized signatory for the school’s checks.
According to RIB, the suspects are being investigated for:
* **Embezzlement** of public property.
* **Mismanagement** of funds (using funds for purposes other than intended).
* **Abuse of power** for personal gain.
* **Amount Involved:** Preliminary investigations reveal that **226,790,877 RWF** was embezzled.
* **Current Status:** The suspects are currently held at the **Bwishyura RIB Station** while their case file is being prepared for submission to the Prosecution.
RIB has issued a warning to those entrusted with managing and utilizing public resources, urging them to strictly adhere to the governing laws. The bureau emphasized that mismanagement of such funds negatively impacts citizens and national development, noting that such actions are strictly punishable by law.
