RE: Invitation to participate in the orientation training for Lower Primary Teachers on English Literacy Instruction
The Rwanda Basic Education Board (REB) has revised the Lower Primary English syllabus, introducing a new approach to English literacy instruction and in collaboration with its partners, the training manuals for both trainers and trainees are developed to support the implementation of the revised syllabus and to strengthen learners' English competencies. To ensure effective implementation, a two-day orientation training for lower Primary 1- 3 English teachers and their Deputy Headteachers in charge of Studies (DoS).
In this regard, we kindly invite teachers as per attached list and their respective Deputy Headteachers in charge of Studies (DoS) to participate in the orientation Training of English Primary Teachers which will take place at two different training centres per each District. Teachers will be oriented from 18 to 19 April 2026 while Deputy Headteachers in charge of Studies (DoS) will be trained on 18th April 2026 only. Schools which don't have Deputy Headteachers in charge of studies (DoS) will be represented by the Headteachers from the same schools.
We strongly encourage teachers to actively participate in this important orientation training related to changes made in the English syllabus, which will further strengthen their capacity to effectively teach English lesson to improve learning outcomes. All invitees are requested to come with their mission authorizations for administrative and financial purposes. All costs related to this training will be covered by REB/SPIU.
