The University of Rwanda’s College of
Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences (UR CVAS) is currently recruiting
academic staff for several departments at the Nyagatare Campus. Below are the

Available Positions
The recruitment covers several academic
ranks across two main schools:
A. School of Veterinary Medicine and
Life Sciences
- Department of Veterinary Medicine (Clinical Sciences): Professor, Associate Professor, Senior Lecturer, or Lecturer
specializing in Animal Reproduction (Theriogenology).
- Department of Veterinary Medicine:
Positions available for Professor, Associate Professor, Senior Lecturer,
or Lecturer in the following specializations:
- Animal Pathology
- Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology
- Veterinary Biochemistry
- Assistant Lecturer: One position
requiring a Master’s degree in Veterinary Biomedical Sciences.
B. School of Animal Sciences and
Biotechnology
- Department of Animal Production:
Assistant Lecturer with a Master’s in Animal Production.
- Department of Aquaculture and Fisheries:
- Assistant Lecturer with a Master’s in Aquaculture and/or
Fishery Management.
- Assistant Lecturer with a Master’s in Molecular Biology
and/or Fish Breeding.
General Requirements by Rank
- Professor: PhD or Professional
Doctorate, 10 years of successful teaching experience, at least 13
peer-reviewed publications, and successful supervision of at least two PhD
students.
- Associate Professor: PhD or
Professional Doctorate, 6 years of teaching experience, at least 7
peer-reviewed publications, and successful supervision of at least one PhD
student.
- Senior Lecturer: PhD or
Professional Doctorate, 3 years of teaching experience, at least 3
peer-reviewed publications, and supervision of at least two Master's
students.
- Lecturer: PhD or Professional
Doctorate in the relevant area of specialization.
- Assistant Lecturer: Master’s degree
in the relevant field and publications in peer-reviewed journals.
