The Joint Japan–World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program
(JJ/WBGSP) 2026 will begin accepting applications on January 15, 2026. Those
from developing nations with a bachelor’s degree who want to pursue a master’s
program in a discipline connected to development are supported by this fully
financed fellowship. It is intended for professionals who have worked in the
development industry for at least two years and want to acquire skills that
support social and economic advancement. Scholars can attend prestigious
colleges in the USA, Japan, Africa, Europe, and Oceania thanks to this
initiative. Selected students are required to return to their home countries
after graduation and use their knowledge and abilities to community and
national development.
Eligibility Criteria :
- must
be a citizen of a developing nation that qualifies.
- No
civilized nation allows dual citizenship.
- achieved
a bachelor’s degree at least three years prior to applying
- After
earning a bachelor’s degree, at least three years of relevant job
experience
- Currently
working in the field of development
- Excellent
health and no significant medical issues
- No
family members (by blood, marriage, or adoption) may be employed by the
World Bank.
- must
fulfill the standards for admission and eligibility set forth by JJ/WBGSP
participating programs and universities.
- must
receive an offer of unconditional admission to a master’s program that
qualifies before the scholarship deadline.
- Previous
JJ/WBGSP recipients who declined the award or did not graduate are
ineligible.
