Commonwealth Youth Development Summit 2026 at the University of Oxford: Applications Now Open
The Commonwealth Youth Council (CYC) is
convening the Commonwealth Youth Development Summit 2026, a high-level global
gathering designed to shape youth development priorities amid increasing global
uncertainty.
Youth development programs
Taking place from 9–11 April 2026 at the
University of Oxford, United Kingdom, this landmark three-day summit will bring
together youth leaders, policymakers, institutions, and development partners
from across the Commonwealth and beyond.
The Summit provides a unique platform for
young people aged 18–35 to engage directly in dialogue, capacity-building, and
policy co-creation ahead of the 2026 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting
(CHOGM) and the Commonwealth Youth Forum.
What the Summit Offers
The programme is intentionally structured
to move participants from agenda-setting to skills development, co-creation,
and strategic political engagement:
- Day 1: High-level dialogue and youth agenda-setting
- Day 2: Practical policy skills development and collaborative
problem-solving
- Day 3: Policy engagement and adoption of youth priorities
Participants will gain the tools, networks,
and insights needed to influence youth development at local, national, and
global levels.
Who Can Apply?
The Summit is open to motivated young
people aged 18–35 from across the Commonwealth and beyond, including:
Oxford research positions
- Students and early-career professionals
- Youth leaders and advocates
- Social entrepreneurs and innovators
- Policy and development practitioners
- Activists and human rights defenders
No prior international experience is
required—only commitment, curiosity, and passion for youth development.

- Daily breakfast and lunch throughout the Summit

Council
