The University of Leicester is delighted to
offer 150 tuition fee waivers over the next five years to international
undergraduate students. This begins with 30 tuition fee waivers available for
applicants starting in September 2026.

Leicester Undergraduate Scholarship
- A full tuition fee waiver will be awarded to 30 international
fee-paying undergraduate students starting an undergraduate programme in
September 2026.
Requirements for University of Leicester
Undergraduate Scholarship Qualification
- You must be starting a full-time undergraduate
programme at the University of Leicester, UK campus commencing in
September 2026 for year one, two or three of your undergraduate programme
for a maximum of three years.
- You must have made Leicester your ‘firm choice’ by 30 June 2026
(if you have applied through UCAS you will need to reply by your UCAS
reply deadline, which may be earlier than this date).
- You should achieve the equivalent to two grades above the
standard A-level entry requirement.
- All conditions of your offer must be met by 20 August 2026.
- You must be classed as an international student for fee
purposes.
Excluding Medicine, LLB Maitrise, STEM
International Foundation, ‘International Year 1’ courses and for programmes
that exceed three years in duration.
Study abroad programs
For example, if the standard A-level
entry requirement is advertised as ABB, this fee waiver will be awarded to
applicants who achieve the equivalent to A-level AAA or higher in an
international qualification (see our country pages for
equivalents in our most common qualifications). Discretion will be applied
where an equivalent level is not practically attainable within the marking
scheme of particular international qualifications.
Interview date, Process and Venue for
University of Leicester Undergraduate Scholarship
Your video will be judged on three main
catergories:
- Realism
- In this category, we’re looking at the feasibility of your
answers. Is it possible and do your answers show you’ve given thought and
consideration to the viability of your plans for your university life and
your future?
- Creativity
- By creativity, we don’t mean how good your video skills are.
This is about your thought process, your idea and how you’ve approached
the topic and how you’ve demonstrated your idea. Does your plan stand out
from the crowd?
- Impact
- At Leicester, we are Citizens of Change working for a better
future through diverse understanding and ambitious research. We champion
diversity and unite in our ambition to pursue knowledge that has an
impact in making our world a better place. Will your plans for during and
after your degree impact the world for the better? No matter how big or
small we will be looking at how well you have demonstrated the impact you
could make in the world.

Interested and qualified? Go to University of
Leicester on forms.cloud.microsoft to applyTo be considered, you need
to create a short video (no more than two minutes) which answers these three
questions:
- What do you want to achieve after university?
- How will your chosen degree help you achieve this?
- How will you contribute to the University community while
you’re here?
Videos should be submitted as a link to
Google Drive, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Wechat Video or Douyin in the section
indicated in the application form.
The University of Leicester is not
looking for film-making or acting skills, but instead how you approach and
answer the questions. And, you don’t need to be in the video yourself if you
don’t want to be. Alongside the video submission, the University of Leicester
will also take into consideration your Personal Statement and any
extracurricular activities you have highlighted in the application form.
