2026 EDITION OF MAURITIUS -
AFRICA SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME
The Higher Education Council (HEC)
wishes to inform the public that, through the Bilateral Cooperation with the
Government of Rwanda, the Republic of Mauritius has offered
scholarships per level of study (Bachelor, Masters, and PhD) for
the 2026 academic intake.
Interested candidates should submit
the following documents:
- Application
letter addressed to the Director General of HEC;
- National
ID or valid passport;
- Curriculum Vitae;
- Completed
application form;
- Certified
copy of birth certificate;
- Certified
copy of bio-data page of passport;
- Certified
copies of educational certificates and transcripts;
- Copy
of letter of conditional offer by a public Higher Education
Institution (HEI) in Mauritius (if available at the time of application)
or copy of acknowledgement notice from a Mauritian Public HEI that the
application for a seat has been made and the appropriate application fee
has been paid;
- Medical
certificate to be duly filled and signed by a registered medical
practitioner in section 6 of the application form. This should be
appropriately stamped;
- Study/research
plan for candidates opting for a Masters and Doctoral studies;
- Supporting
statement from a named supervisor from a University in Mauritius
for PhD candidates.
Please note:
- University
application forms, program information, requirements per level of study and conditions
for scholarships can be found on brochures published on the HEC
website www.hec.gov.rw.
- The
call for applications, the application forms and the guideline for
applicants are available for download from the following websites: https://tertiaryeducation.govmu.org/te/index.php/mass/.
- The
above-mentioned application documents will be submitted online to HEC MIS
using the link: https://hecmis.hec.gov.rw/.
