Role Overview: Regional Safeguards Manager
As Regional Safeguards Manager, you will support park teams across the Central African Region by:
- Monitoring and mitigating human rights risks
- Establishing grievance and accountability mechanisms
- Conducting training on community engagement and ranger ethics
- Ensuring compliance with international safeguards policies
- Overseeing Safeguards Managers in individual parks
You will also work closely with the Regional Operations Manager and contribute to the overall strategy for ethical, inclusive conservation in fragile landscapes.
Key Requirements:
- At least 5 years’ experience in human rights, humanitarian aid, or conservation
- Strong understanding of grievance mechanisms, human rights law, and community protection
- Ability to work in remote field environments across Central Africa
- Fluent in French and English
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law, Human Rights, Occupational Psychology, or related fields
Location and Contract Terms
- Duty Station: Central African Republic or other Central African locations
- Contract Type: Full-time, fixed term
- Start Date: As soon as possible
