What Is the RALGA Cell Staffs
Recruitment Calendar?
RALGA publishes a common schedule so that
districts recruit cell staff on the same timeline. The calendar covers
advertising, shortlisting, appeals, written exams and oral tests. Using one
calendar helps keep recruitment orderly and fair across districts.

Where Are We Now?
The advertising and shortlisting stages,
and the appeals period for shortlisting, ended in October. The next big
milestone for shortlisted candidates is the written exam on 10, 11 and 12
November 2026. If you applied, check your shortlisting result and your exam
date and venue with your district office now.
What Each Stage Means for You
Advertising (9-19 October). Districts published the vacant cell positions. The calendar does
not name the posts. Check your district’s notice board and website for the job
titles and requirements.
Shortlisting (20-23 October). Districts reviewed applications and chose candidates who met the
requirements.
Appeals (26-30 October). Candidates who were not shortlisted could challenge the decision in
this window.
Written exams (10-12 November). Shortlisted candidates sit the written test. Your district
schedules each candidate in the system, so confirm your date, time and venue.
Appeals for written exams (13-17
November). Candidates who dispute their results can
appeal during this period.
Oral tests (24-26 November). Candidates who pass the written stage are invited to the interview.
How to Prepare for the Written Exam and
Oral Test
- Revise the job description. Study
the duties of the post you applied for.
- Learn how local government works. Review
decentralisation, the roles of cell, sector and district offices, and
community service delivery.
- Practise writing. Written tests
often check clarity, grammar and report writing in the language of the
exam.
- Follow current affairs. Read about
national programmes and local development priorities.
- Prepare for the oral test. Practise
explaining your experience, how you would solve a community problem and
why you want the job.
- Bring your documents. Carry your
national ID and any document your district requires.
- Arrive early. Plan your transport
and be at the venue before the start time.
- Dress professionally for the
interview.
