PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT
ENGLISH PROFICIENCY ASSESSMENT FOR CANDIDATES WHO APPLIED FOR SCHOOL LEADERSHIP POSITIONS
The Rwanda Basic Education Board (REB) informs applicants who applied for school leadership positions, namely Head Teacher or Deputy Head Teacher, and successfully passed the written exam, that they are required to take the English Proficiency Assessment as the next stage of the selection process.
The assessment is designed to evaluate the level of English proficiency required for effective school leadership. The results will be used to determine applicants' progression to the interview stage. They will then sit for English proficiency Test, on their allocated date between 3rd and 6th September 2026. The list indicating assessment center, date and time will be uploaded on the official REB website (www.reb.gov.rw) on 31/08/2026.
Note:
1. Candidates must sit for the test only at the examination center to which they have been officially assigned.
2. Each candidate must present an original National ID before being admitted to the assessment.
3. Candidates must bring their own functional headphones for use during the assessment.
4. Mobile phones and other unauthorized electronic devices are strictly prohibited inside the assessment room/waiting room.
5. Candidates who passed the written examination for more than one school leadership position will take the Online English Proficiency Test once; the score obtained will apply to all positions applied for.
