The Chevening Scholarship 2027–2028 has

United Kingdom. Funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office

Eligible Nationalities
Applicants must:
- Be citizens of a Chevening-eligible country or territory.
- Return to their home country for at least two years after
completing the scholarship.
- Meet all eligibility requirements published by the Chevening
Secretariat.
British citizens and dual British citizens
are generally not eligible, except in limited circumstances.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should generally:
- Be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country or territory.
- Hold an undergraduate degree that qualifies them for admission
to a UK master's program.
- Have completed at least 2,800 hours of post-graduation
work experience before applying.
- Apply to three eligible UK master's degree programs.
- Demonstrate leadership potential and networking skills.
- Agree to return to their home country for a minimum of two
years after completing the scholarship.
Eligible work experience may include:
- Full-time employment
- Part-time employment
- Paid internships
- Unpaid internships
- Volunteer work
Only work completed after
graduation counts toward the required 2,800 hours.

Required Documents
At the initial application stage,
applicants generally need:
- Completed online application
- Details of two referees
- Information about three eligible UK master's courses
If shortlisted, applicants will later
submit:
- Passport or photo identification
- Undergraduate degree certificate
- Two reference letters
- Additional documents requested by Chevening
An English language test is not
required when submitting the initial scholarship application, although
universities may require IELTS, TOEFL, PTE Academic, or another accepted
English qualification.
