About the Position
The Programme Analyst will support UN
Women’s Ending Violence Against Women (EVAW) Section in West and Central
Africa. The role focuses on strengthening regional efforts to prevent and
respond to violence against women and girls, supporting flagship initiatives,
coordinating partnerships, conducting research, and contributing to advocacy
and programme implementation.
The successful candidate will work closely
with governments, UN agencies, civil society organizations, donors, and
development partners to advance gender equality and women’s rights across the

Key Responsibilities
The selected Programme Analyst will:
Fellowship program directory
- Support the development and implementation of Ending Violence
Against Women flagship programmes.
- Assist in coordinating UN agencies and regional partners.
- Contribute to donor reporting and programme monitoring.
- Conduct research and policy analysis on gender equality and
violence against women.
- Draft reports, concept notes, briefing papers, and advocacy
materials.
- Support resource mobilization and partnership development
efforts.
- Organize workshops, webinars, advocacy campaigns, and
knowledge-sharing events.
- Assist with annual work plans, budgets, and programme
implementation activities.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following
criteria:
Education
Candidates must possess:
- A Master’s degree in Gender Studies, Development Studies,
Economics, International Relations, Sociology, or a related field.
OR
- A Bachelor’s degree with at least four years of relevant
professional experience.
Experience
Applicants should have:
Educational Resources
- At least two years of paid professional experience in programme
or project implementation, monitoring and evaluation, donor reporting, or
capacity-building activities.
- Experience working on gender equality, women’s rights, or
violence against women programmes is highly desirable.
- Experience coordinating with governments, donors, NGOs, or
international organizations is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, research, and report-writing skills.
Language Requirements
- Fluency in English is required.
- Knowledge of French is considered a strong asset.
- Knowledge of another UN language is an advantage.
JPO Eligibility Conditions
This vacancy is exclusively open to
nationals of countries eligible under the Netherlands JPO Programme.
Additional requirements include:
- Applicants must be 32 years old or younger by 31 December of
the application year.
- A substantial portion of the applicant’s university education must
have taken place in an eligible developing country.
- Previous work experience within the UN system must not exceed
one year, including internships, consultancies, or UN Volunteer
assignments.
