world-class education opportunities! The Higher Education Council (HEC) has
officially announced that, through bilateral cooperation between the Government
of Rwanda and the Government of Japan, full scholarships are being offered for
the 2027 academic year.

Available Scholarship Categories
The Government of Japan is accepting
applications across three main academic levels:
- Undergraduate Students: For
students looking to pursue a Bachelor’s degree.
- College of Technology Students: For
those seeking specialized technical and engineering qualifications.
- Research Students (Master’s and PhD): For postgraduate students looking to advance their research
and academic careers.
Application Deadlines & Mode of
Submission
- Deadline: All completed application
files must be submitted online no later than 29 May 2026 at 12:00 p.m.
- Submission Channel: Applications
must be submitted online directly to the Embassy of Japan in Kigali.
Important Note: Late applications will not be considered, so it is highly
recommended to start compiling your documents immediately to avoid the
last-minute rush.
