EDUCATION
AND EXPERIENCE
-
- • He/she must
have minimum Bachelor’s Degree in public health, Nursing/Midwifery,
Epidemiology,
- Environmental
Health, or another related field.
- •. He/she must
have Minimum of 2 years working experience on the national level
support in IPC/WASH implementation.
- • Demonstrated
experience supporting health facilities in IPC, WASH, or outbreak
- readiness.
- SKILLS AND
ABILITIES
- • Strong
knowledge of national IPC standards, WHO IPC guidelines, and WASH- FIT
methodologies.
- • Excellent
communication, coaching, and reporting skills.
- • Strong
technical skills in IPC and WASH

coordination with government and partners

- Providing
hands-on technical support to King Faisal Hospital for strengthening
- Infection
Prevention and Control (IPC) and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH)
- systems,
including standard precautions, prevention of healthcare-associated
infections
- (HCAIs), and
outbreak prevention.
- Conduct routine
IPC/WASH facility assessments and follow up on the implementation of
improvement plans.
- Support KHF to
maintain functional IPC/WASH committees and build their capacity to
implement IPC, WASH, and Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) initiatives.
- Mentor IPC/WASH
committees to strengthen monitoring, surveillance, data analysis, and
action planning.
- Support KFH to
collect, track, and review IPC data, conduct audits, and use findings to
drive continuous quality improvement.
- Support KFH to
ensure the functionality and maintenance of WASH infrastructure,
including water supply, sanitation and hand hygiene practices, waste
management, cleaning and disinfection practices.
- Strengthen
facility outbreak preparedness and response
- Lead and support
facility-level training, coaching, and mentorship on IPC/WASH standards
in line with national IPC policies and strategic plans.
- Facilitate the
dissemination and effective use of IPC/WASH guidelines, standard
operating procedures (SOPs), and job aids at facility level.
- Provide
technical support for procurement and supply chain management of
essential
- IPC/WASH
equipment, Supplies and consumables.
- Collaborate with
different Departments to ensure coordinated and harmonized IPC/WASH
practices.
- Document and
share lessons learned, challenges, and best practices from
facility-level IPC/WASH implementation.
- Perform any
other IPC/WASH-related duties assigned by the supervisor in support of
national health priorities.

- • He/she must
have Minimum of 2 years working experience in the Hospital setting in
IPC/WASH implementation
- • Strong
knowledge of national IPC standards, WHO IPC guidelines, and WASH FIT
methodologies.
- • Experience in
WASH, environmental health, IPC, or community health programs
- is an added
advantage.

- Support the
planning, implementation, and monitoring of WASH improvement plans
within the Facility
- Monitor and
support safe water supply systems, sanitation facilities, and hygiene
practices in Health facility.
- Conduct routine
inspections and risk assessments of water sources, sanitation systems,
and hygiene practice
- Support health
facility in implementing IPC and WASH standards to prevent
healthcare-associated infections (HCAIs).
- Participate in
IPC/WASH facility assessments and follow-up actions.
- Promote hand
hygiene and safe sanitation practices through community engagement and
facility-based interventions
- Support outbreak
preparedness and response through environmental health interventions.
- Collaborate with
IPC Manager to strengthen surveillance, monitoring, and compliance.
- Conduct
environmental health inspections of the health facility,
- Support solid
and liquid waste management, including healthcare waste segregation,
treatment, and final disposal.
- Monitor
environmental risks related to pollution, vector breeding, and unsafe
housing conditions.
- Identify and
mitigate environmental risk factors contributing to disease outbreaks
- Inspect food
premises to ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Provide guidance
and education to food handlers on safe food preparation, storage, and
handling practices.
- participate in
foodborne disease surveillance and outbreak investigations.
- Support vector
surveillance and control activities to reduce transmission of
vector-borne diseases.
- Conduct
community sensitization and health education on environmental health,
sanitation, hygiene, and disease prevention.
- Promote behavior
change communication related to environmental health risks.
- Collect,
analyze, and report environmental health and WASH data using approved
tools and systems.
- Monitor routing
and general Environmental Cleaning and disinfection
- Ensure proper
linens and linens managements
- Prepare routine
activity reports and submit timely updates to supervisors and relevant
authorities.
- Document best
practices, lessons learned, and challenges to inform planning and policy
decisions.
- Participate in
public health emergency preparedness, response, and recovery activities.
- Support outbreak
investigations and emergency WASH and environmental health interventions
as required.
- Advise KFH
managers on cost-effective, sustainable, and climate-resilient WASH and
medical waste management infrastructure solutions.
- Submit monthly,
quarterly and annual reports to the supervisor

and Cleaners,

alignment with national health policies, WHO guidelines, and regulatory
requirements
- Support
implementation of IPC/WASH standards across the Hospital
- Establish and
oversee surveillance systems for healthcare-associated infections (HAIs)
and EMR
- Lead IPC
preparedness planning for outbreaks and public health emergencies
- Monitor IPC
/WASH compliance through audits, assessments, and performance indicators
- Support
mentorship and continuous professional development in IPC/WASH
- Promote a
culture of safety and accountability among staff
- Coordinate IPC
response during outbreaks, including risk assessment and control
measures
- Conduct IPC/WASH
Audit and report findings to the Hospital management
- Collaborate with
surveillance, laboratory, and public health teams
- Integrate IPC
into broader quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
- Promote best
practices in hand hygiene, environmental cleaning, waste management, and
PPE use
- Analyse data,
prepare reports, and provide evidence-based recommendations
- Support
antimicrobial stewardship activities in collaboration with relevant
teams
