DRIVERS RECRUITMENT

The International Conservation Fund (ICFC) is an international conservation, humanitarian, and development organization with General Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC). ICFC operates in 32 countries worldwide and, since 2007, has worked in partnership with local conservation organizations across Latin America, Africa, and Asia. These local partners possess the contextual knowledge and experience needed to design and implement effective conservation and development interventions.

In Rwanda, ICFC has been legally operating since 2003 and is duly registered under the Rwanda Governance Board (RGB) with registration number 000018/RGB/INGO/RC/11/2024. Over the years, ICFC has made significant contributions to strengthening conservation efforts, promoting sustainable agriculture and livestock development, enhancing livelihoods, providing humanitarian assistance, advancing advocacy initiatives, and supporting social economy programs.

ICFC is currently seeking a reliable and responsible full-time Driver to support our projects by ensuring the safe and timely transportation of project staff, materials, and documents. The Driver will play a key role in ensuring the smooth implementation of project activities.

Reporting to: Finance and Administration Manager;
Contract duration: 1-year renewable;
Location: Kigali with frequent travels to the field

Number of position: 2

Duties and Responsibilities:
Transportation:
• Safely transport project staff to and from various locations as required.
• Deliver and collect project-related materials, documents, and supplies.
• Ensure punctuality and adhere to the project’s transportation schedule.
Vehicle Maintenance:
• Regularly check and maintain the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
• Schedule and assisting the line manager in following up maintenance.
Documentation:
• Maintain accurate records of travel, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents.
• Ensure all necessary vehicle documents are up to date, including insurance and registration.
Communication:
• Maintain effective communication with project staff regarding transportation needs and schedules.
• Report any vehicle issues or incidents promptly to the Finance Assistant

  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Rwanda national
  • Possesses a valid national driving permit of category, B,
  • Proven experience as a driver, preferably in a project or NGO setting.
  • Familiarity with the local area and routes.
  • Excellent driving skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
  • Education Requirement: No Requirements
  • Job Experience: 2 years
