The Rwanda Basic Education Board (REB) has released a significant announcement regarding teacher transfers, marking an important step ahead of the new academic year.
In a formal letter issued from Kigali on October 23, 2025 (Reference N$^{\circ}$ 3467/REB/05/2025), the Director General, Dr. MBARUSHIMANA Nelson, addressed District Mayors and the Executive Secretaries of Gasabo, Kicukiro, and Nyarugenge sectors. The letter's primary purpose is to present the official lists of teachers whose transfers have been approved.
Two Key Transfer Groups Confirmed
The announcement pertains to two specific groups of teachers who have been granted transfers:
Transfers to Current Work Districts: The main list includes teachers who have been granted transfers to the districts where they are currently working.
Transfers to Home Districts: A separate, vital list is attached for teachers who were granted a transfer to their home district. This is a great measure to ensure they can begin working in the new academic year without any further salary transfer difficulties.
