The Rwanda Development Board (RDB) is a government institution established to accelerate Rwanda’s economic development by promoting investment, driving private sector growth, and facilitating business operations across the country. The RDB Single Project Implementation Unit (SPIU) is mandated to coordinate, manage, and oversee the implementation of externally funded projects under the Rwanda Development Board. Its core responsibilities include planning and executing projects in alignment with national priorities, ensuring effective financial and procurement management, monitoring and evaluating project performance, and ensuring timely reporting to stakeholders, RDB is seeking to recruit qualified and competent professionals for the following contractual positions under SPIU:

The Vacant Positions (Number of Posts: 2 for each role)

The RDB SPIU is recruiting for the following Senior roles:

  1. Senior Civil Engineer
  2. Senior Mechanical Engineer
  3. Senior Electrical Engineer
  4. Senior Quantity Surveyor





What We're Looking For: Minimum Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for these key roles, candidates must possess a high level of technical qualification and proven experience:

Bachelor's or Master's in Civil Engineering

7 years of proven practical working experience in the construction sector

5 years of proven practical working experience in the construction sector

Senior Mechanical Engineer

Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical or Electro-mechanical Engineering

7 years of proven practical working experience in the field of expertise

5 years of proven practical working experience in the field of expertise

Senior Electrical Engineer

Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering

7 years of proven practical working experience in the field of expertise

5 years of proven practical working experience in the field of expertise

Senior Quantity Surveyor

Bachelor's in Quantity Surveying or Master's in Construction Management

7 years of proven practical experience in the construction sector

5 years of proven practical experience in the construction sector

Professional Competencies & Registration

  • All Engineering candidates must be technically qualified and registered with the Institute of Engineers Rwanda (IER) with a valid license. The Senior Electrical Engineer also needs a valid electrical installation permit Class B issued by RURA.
  • The Senior Quantity Surveyor must be an active member of the association of quantity surveyors in Rwanda with a valid license.
  • All senior roles require having been involved in the design, supervision, or execution of at least five (5) civil/MEP/construction projects.
  • All candidates should be fluent in English or French, both oral and written, with Kinyarwanda as an asset for the Mechanical, Electrical, and Quantity Surveyor roles.

  1. The submission of valid and acceptable proof of experience or work certificates, attached to your job application letter is mandatory to support the relevant experience outlined in the applicant’s CV, along with the other documents mentioned above, for pre-selection.
