How to Prepare for the REB English Proficiency Test 2025 for Headteachers, DoS & DoD

The Rwanda Basic Education Board (REB) has announced that all candidates who passed the written exam for Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher in charge of studies (DoS), and Deputy Headteacher in charge of discipline (DoD) will sit for the English Proficiency Test before the interview stage.



Exam dates: 26th – 29th August 2025
The full list of candidates with specific exam dates will be published on REB’s official website by 24th August 2025.

How to Prepare for the REB English Proficiency Test

To succeed, you need to improve your reading, listening, grammar, and vocabulary skills. Here’s a recommended preparation plan with free online English practice tests:

Exam Day Requirements (REB Guidelines)

  • Arrive 30 minutes early.
  • Take the test at your assigned exam centre only.
  • Bring your National ID and your Headphones (for listening).
  • Phones are not allowed in the exam room.
