Job Overview
We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic
teachers to join our upper primary teaching team. Ideal candidates will have a
strong background in either mathematics (SME) or languages (LE –
English/Kinyarwanda), with the ability to support learners in mastering core
skills and preparing for national assessments.
Candidates should value inclusive education, promote active
learning, and foster environments where students are encouraged to think
critically, solve problems creatively, and develop holistically.
Successful applicants will be assigned to a specific grade
level (e.g., P4A and P4B) and will also contribute to project-based, thematic
lessons that utilize both indoor and outdoor spaces. All new hires are required
to complete a four-week induction module focused on TEACH Rwanda’s pedagogical
approach.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Design and deliver CBC-aligned lessons in Mathematics or Languages using interactive, play-based strategies.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including those with special needs.
- Employ diverse and practical teaching methods that foster curiosity and deep understanding.
- Track and document students’ academic progress, behavior, and social-emotional development using school-specific tools.
- Collaborate with co-teachers in planning and implementing cohesive lessons and classroom strategies.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment.
- Participate in school-wide events, meetings, and extracurricular programs.
- Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to school improvement efforts.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- A2 qualification in Education with a specialization in Mathematics (SME) or Languages (LE – English and Kinyarwanda).
- Valid TTC certificate in the relevant subject area.
- Proficiency in spoken English.
- Genuine passion for teaching and learning.
- Experience or understanding of play-based and active learning strategies.
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and grow professionally.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
