Description:

As a Quality, Health and Safety Manager, your primary responsibilities revolve around ensuring the safety and well-being of employees by conducting risk assessments, implementing safety training, and maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations. Your role includes investigating incidents, developing emergency response plans, and performing safety audits to foster a culture of safety while supporting sustainable practices.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Risk Assessment:
    Identify potential health, safety, environmental, and compliance risks across all operations (farms, hatcheries, fleet, and processing units), and develop practical mitigation strategies to minimize exposure and ensure safe working conditions.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    Ensure full compliance with all applicable environmental, occupational health and safety, and aquaculture-specific regulations. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legal requirements and oversee adherence through policies, procedures, and audits.
  • Training and Education:
    Design and deliver training programs to equip staff with knowledge on safety protocols, compliance requirements, emergency procedures, and ethical practices. Promote continuous learning to strengthen a proactive safety culture.
  • Incident Investigation:
    Lead the investigation of accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes. Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions and ensure proper documentation and follow-through.
  • Emergency Preparedness:
    Develop, implement, and regularly test emergency response plans (e.g., water-related incidents, fire, equipment failure, environmental hazards) to ensure operational readiness and minimize impact.
  • Health Monitoring:
    Oversee employee health and wellbeing programs, including occupational health checks, exposure monitoring, and initiatives to prevent work-related illnesses and injuries.
  • Reporting:
    Prepare and present regular HSE reports, including key metrics, incident data, compliance status, and risk trends, to support informed decision-making by leadership.
  • Collaboration:
    Work closely with cross-functional teams (operations, HR, maintenance, and leadership) to integrate health and safety practices into daily operations and ensure alignment across departments.
  • Environmental Management:
    Oversee environmental protection initiatives, including waste management, water quality control, pollution prevention, and sustainable aquaculture practices, ensuring minimal environmental impact.

About the role:

As the Assistant Finance Manager at Kivu Choice Ltd, you will be responsible for supporting financial planning, reporting, and operational finance functions within the organization. Working closely with the FP&A Manager, the role contributes to budgeting, forecasting, and the preparation of accurate financial statements in compliance with IFRS standards. The position ensures the integrity of financial data through active involvement in month-end close processes, general ledger reviews, and balance sheet accounts for reconciliations and valuations.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the FP&A Manager in the preparation of the annual budget and rolling forecasts.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRSs, including Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statement.
  • Assist in the coordination of the month end close process, ensuring accuracy and completeness of transactions and balances.
  • Perform general ledger review on a regular basis to identify deviations from assertions such as accuracy, occurrence, completeness and cut-off for Profit & Loss transactions.
  • Perform end of the month valuation of balance sheet accounts in line with IAS 21
  • Oversee the receipt, verification, and coding of vendor invoices. Ensure that payments match purchase orders.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor disputes, payment inquiries, and account reconciliations.
  • Ensure all payments follow internal controls and regulatory requirements
  • Work with customers and the sales team to resolve billing errors or pricing disputes that delay payment.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly AP/AR aging reports, cash flow projections, and KPI dashboards.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor AP/AR staff. Set performance goals and conduct reviews.
  • Any other responsibility that you may be assigned by the supervisors

Qualifications and experience

Loan Officer Jobs

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • Professional Accounting Qualification (CPA, ACCA, CFA or CIMA) completed, or in final stages
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial reporting, financial planning and analysis or external audit.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and data analysis.
  • Experience with ERP and financial systems (e.g., ERPNext, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Description:

As a Technical and Electrical Engineer, your primary responsibilities revolve around ensuring the maintenance and repair of refrigerated storage and transport units to preserve fish quality. This role involves troubleshooting, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring refrigeration systems operate efficiently in the company’s daily operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing refrigeration systems within refrigerated storage units, reefers and cold rooms, including diagnosing electrical and mechanical issues,
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair refrigerated storage units and transport refrigeration systems used in fish processing and distribution.
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Inspect, test, and replace defective components such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, and electrical wiring.
  • Conduct performance tests to identify issues and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Work with diesel-powered reefer units as needed, performing basic engine diagnostics and repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and maintenance schedules.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and company policies while working on refrigeration equipment.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality service in our fish farming operations.
  • Be able to install, maintain, and repair electrical power, communication, lighting and control systems in homes, businesses and factories

Skills:

  • Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Reefer Technician, Refrigeration Mechanic, or similar role.
  • Certification in HVAC, refrigeration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience working with brands such as Carrier, Thermo King, or other reefer units is a plus.
