DOWNLOAD TERM 2 DISTRICT EXAMS P1-P6 PAST PAPERS AND MARKING GUIDE
As the end of Term 2 approaches, students across Rwanda are preparing for their district-level assessments. In line with the Rwanda Education Board (REB) and NESA guidelines, success in the Competence-Based Curriculum (CBC) requires more than just memorization—it requires the ability to apply knowledge to real-world situations.
Using past district papers is the most effective way to ensure learners are ready for the specific structure of Rwandan examinations.

💡 Preparation Tips for the Rwandan Context
Practice "Application" Questions: Rwanda's CBC focuses on how you use what you know. Expect questions that ask you to "explain how to protect the environment" or "how to use money wisely in a market."
Focus on SET and ICT: With Rwanda’s push for STEM, Science and Elementary Technology is a major focus. Practice labeling diagrams (like the water cycle or human body) and understanding basic coding/technology concepts.
Kinyarwanda Literacy: For P1–P3, ensure the student can read and comprehend stories in Kinyarwanda, as this forms the base of the LEGRA (Literacy and Early Grade Reading Assessment) standards.
Time Management: District exams are timed strictly. Encourage students to spend no more than 1.5 minutes on multiple-choice questions to leave time for the long-answer "Competence" section.
📝 Sample P6 Science Question (SET)
Question: Explain two ways how a Rwandan farmer can prevent soil erosion on a hilly farm.
Correct Answer: 1. Terracing: Creating steps on the hillside to slow down water.
2. Afforestation: Planting trees to hold the soil together with their roots.
Teacher/Parent Note: All papers are updated to reflect the 2025/2026 academic year assessment standards
